Sunday’s coronation concert for King Charles III included Sonam Kapoor.
At the Coronation Concert on Sunday, Sonam Kapoor, dressed in all-white, was a vision as she presented the Commonwealth’s numerous choir performers. Several well-known performers were present at the performance, which was a part of King Charles III’s crowning festivities. One of the most famous Bollywood actors, Sonam, was presented and gave a speech after saying “namaste.”
The elegant Bardot gown, created by Anamika Khanna and Emilia Wickstead together, looked lovely on the actress. “Historic moments call for fashion moments,” commented Sonam, who posted multiple images of herself wearing a white outfit to Instagram. I am pleased to wear the joint creation of two of the most outstanding designers from the two nations I am fortunate to call home to commemorate the memorable Coronationconcert.
Sonam’s spoken word performance highlighted the Commonwealth’s diversity and the unity that unites the country. Sonam’s composition was the introduction to the Commonwealth’s virtual choir performances, which featured choirs, solo singers, and duos from all 56 Commonwealth nations. A 70-piece orchestra played a contemporary rendition of Steve Winwood’s well-known song Higher Love as he was welcomed by the host.
On social media, Sonam’s relatives supported her. In a video of her performance on stage, her mother remarked, “So proud! What an honour!” With “love you” and heart emojis, Sonam replied to the message. Arjun Kapoor, her cousin, wrote an emoji on Sunita’s post, along with her uncle Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor, and Bhavna Panday.
To honour King Charles’ accession to the throne after the passing of his mother Queen Elizabeth II last year, a series of pre-recorded VTs featuring Tom Cruise, Pooh, Dynasty star Joan Collins, singer Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls, and dancer Oti Mabuse were shown at the concert. These VTs revealed “little-known facts about the King.”
