After her father passed away from cancer in 2013, the actor too went through a protracted period of bereavement. Priyanka recalled going through a difficult time in her life when she subsequently moved to New York and began filming for Quantico in 2016. During this time, she was living far from her friends and family and was unable to get over her sadness. The actor said that she was finally able to acclimatise since, as an outsider, she had adapted to so many different surroundings.
In an interview with Hoda Kotb from the Today Show, Priyanka discussed how she developed coping mechanisms for difficult life circumstances. I believe I kind of taught myself or learnt how to be my own hype girl at different points in my life, she added. And it guided me through a lot of strange circumstances.
I’ve given that time in my life, when I was in New York, a lot of consideration, she remarked. Additionally, I needed pizzas to help me grieve because both my body and my heart needed to do so. I gave myself permission to indulge in pizza, a bottle of wine, and a terrible movie. I came to a realisation when I realised I had at rock bottom. Now, going up was the only option.
Recently, Priyanka has been touring the world to promote her Prime Video series Citadel alongside co-star Richard Madden.
