The forthcoming historical drama Ponniyin Selvan 2 will see Trisha Krishnan reprise her role as Kundavai. She had received a great deal of appreciation for her depiction as Ilaya Pirattiyar, the princess of the Chola kingdom in the first half, since she created an impression on screen with her beauty and brilliance. Trisha disclosed the identity of the person she was instructed to imitate in a recent interview in order to accurately portray her character. And it was none other than the late chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa.
The second chapter of the two-part epic, which was directed by Mani Ratnam, will be shown in theatres on April 28. In the movie, Trisha has a key part that highlights how the destiny of the Chola kingdom was largely determined by her Kundavai character.
Trisha stated to Anupama Chopra of Film Companion that Mani Ratnam had advised her to “think of her” in reference to the brief he had given her. Since we are all from Chennai, we have all practically grown up with her, seeing her films, and knowing how she was when she was the CM. “Stop being Trisha, think of her,” he said. She is constantly on guard in both her speech and the way she moves.
Because Kundavai must be emotion-free, she suppresses her feelings. Because I’ve seen so much of her—her videos, her films, and even the way she speaks—I genuinely did start to think about her. He desired it, and getting it actually helped. All of us are aware of her walking style, body language, and speaking manner since she is always the queen.
Karthi and Trisha both believed that Jaya’s intellect was always apparent. She always has the upper hand wherever she is. He responded, “You can feel it.
Together with her other Ponniyin Selvan 2 co-stars Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, as well as with music director AR Rahman and director Mani Ratnam, Trisha is now promoting the film. The movie will pick up where the previous part’s conclusion left off, with the title character in the water and a silent queen (Aishwarya Rai) saving her.
